Hao was serving as HEXA’s Group Financial Controller since the platform’s inception from January 2023 and promoted to Chief Financial Officer of HEXA Group from January 2024. He had leadership roles at Asia Cube Energy, where he served as CEO since July 2020, and a distinguished tenure at Jinko Solar, a leading PV module manufacturer. Prior to that, Hao honed his skills as an audit manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers for seven years. A graduate of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Hao holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and is a proud member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Jennifer is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of HEXA Renewables Group. Jennifer is a highly qualified M&A, corporate, and debt finance lawyer with an impressive 16-year track record in the financial services and renewable energy sectors. Her extensive transactional experience includes stints at Baker & McKenzie and DLA Piper. Prior to joining HEXA Renewables in 2023 Jennifer led the legal advisory team for a commercial bank’s corporate finance division, overseeing project financing focusing on solar and offshore wind projects, bond offerings and other structured debt financing, where her contributions further includes devising a comprehensive compliance program for the relevant business units. Jennifer is a qualified lawyer in New Zealand and holds degrees from the University of Auckland, the University of Waikato, and a Masters in Law from UC Berkeley.
Murali joined HEXA Renewables as Technical Director, APAC in August 2023. Murali is a respected, solutions-driven technical director, with strong performance in the development and management of large-scale renewable energy projects. Murali has extensive experience in design management, contract management, project construction & delivery, through quantitative driven optimization. Murali has 20 years of experience in the Power sector across different technologies (solar, wind, energy storage and supercritical thermal power projects) and in multiple regions (India, Middle East, and South-East Asia). Previously Murali was with Nexif Energy, where he worked in South-East Asia on solar, wind and energy storage projects. He also worked with ENGIE in India, Dubai, and Paris for solar power projects competitive bidding & construction with a cumulative capacity of 700 MW in India and Middle East. Prior to that, he worked in ENGIE, Sembcorp, L&T and NTPC. He also played an instrumental role in supercritical steam turbine cycle optimization and achieved TMCR HR <1850 kCal/kWh as early as 2009-10. He holds a master’s degree in finance from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from JNTU College of Engineering, Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
Vince Choi joined HEXA Renewables as Chief Executive Officer in January 2019.
Experienced in sales, development, financing and construction of wind/solar projects with renowned equipment manufacturers and global utilities. Vince has nearly 15 years of experience in wind and solar PV industries in Taiwan, Japan and SE Asia and significant experience across entire value chain of on/offshore wind and solar PV in Taiwan.
Past experiences includes E.On, SGRE, Vestas and Maybank. Vince graduated from University of Toronto with M. Eng Industrial Engineering.
Andy(Kyungsang) Yoo is the General Manager of HEXA Renewables Korea Inc. Andy leads business development, investment, CPPA, procurement, construction, O&M, and most importantly partnership management in Korea.
Andy has over 13 years of experience in business development and leading teams. Previously, Andy was the CEO of Sungrow Korea Inc, where he brought double digit capacities of Solar and Energy Storage System projects to COD / RTB stage within 2 years.
He holds an MBA from Tsinghua-MIT (Sloan School) and served as the representative of Korean students’ community during his MBA tenure.
Yuko Watanabe Shah is a founder and executive manager of HEXA Energy Services, and operating advisor of I Squared Capital. HES was launched to deploy grid scale energy storage system to provide critical balancing power to Japanese grid networks in the country’s energy transition.
Yuko has been with ISQ since 2015, working with portfolio companies in renewable energy, utility, and transportation sectors in Asia. Her contribution to the business growth and unique collaboration with Japanese partners are notable for Amplus Solar and Cube Highways in India.
Prior to I Squared Capital, Yuko spent 15 years at Mitsubishi Corporation in Japan. She began her career in the project management of solid waste, water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects primarily in Southeast Asia. Most recently, she was a risk assessment officer covering the global environment and infrastructure business for the Investment Advisory Committee for the Board of Mitsubishi.
She holds an M.B.A. in Operations Management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Economics from Doshisha University in Japan.
Aaron joined HEXA Philippines as Chairman in January 2021. Prior to joining HEXA Philippines, his relevant experience spans 30+ years across various firms which include Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at Meralco PowerGen Corporation, and project development and financing roles at GE Capital, UPC Renewables, Moneta Capital, United Technologies, and Zurn Industries. He has developed and implemented over $5 billion worth of conventional and renewable power projects in Asia, Europe, and the U.S. Aaron holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Syracuse University.
Sanjeev is the Founder & Executive Chairman of HEXA operations in India. Prior to starting HEXA Climate’s operations in India, he successfully scaled up Amplus Solar as Founder, MD and CEO of the company that was subsequently acquired by Petronas. Sanjeev is widely recognised as an energy industry expert with over 25 years of experience in the energy sector working with power utilities, banks, and consulting companies in India and Europe. Sanjeev is trained as a mechanical engineer, with an MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad.
Kevin joined the team as the Malaysia office’s General Manager in 2023 having served in other senior roles for the likes of Engie and United Nations Development Programme. A civil engineer by education, he holds degrees from Imperial College London and has an extensive track record of developing and implementing renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in the region. He has completed more than 100 MW of solar projects and completed a range of complex chilled water plant, compressed air, boiler and district cooling projects under a zero capex and outright purchase modalities. He is a professional chartered civil engineer, holds relevant measurement and verification certification, data center design certification as well as energy management certifications.
